I got the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9V digital compact travel camera. In this video I unbox it and show you some detailed close-up shots of the camera itself. That will be up in a couple of days. Initial impressions of the Sony are that it feels incredibly well built and balanced and the new screen is extremely clear. The macro facility is incredible – I just took some test shots, hand-held by the light of a single bulb and they came out really well. Colour accuracy wasn’t 100%, but you’ll see that on the next video. I’ll be uploading those test images with the review video. If you guys have any questions, please leave a comment and ask away. How could I take really nice photographs with a Sony Cybershot camera?

Question by : How could I take really nice photographs with a Sony Cybershot camera?
It is just an average digital camera, I go on Tumblr a lot, and they have really artistic photo’s, however they are mostly created from Nikons, Canons and other really expensive cameras. Please don’t suggest Photoshop or any other complicated, editing programs that cost money and please don’t suggest buying one of those camera’s as I don’t have the money.
Any help would be appreciated as to how I could make the most out of my Sony camera and make nice pictures, tips and tricks will lighting, focus, etc etc would be helpful, thankyou.

In the first instance, try interesting angles. Tilt the camera. Make the subject NOT the centre of the frame. Get very close. Get far away. Try and avoid the flash if you can and get used to holding the camera REALLY steady.

Go on to the Flickr camera explorer and find lots of photos taken with your make and model of camera and try and work out how they were taken.
