I have a normal digital camera (Konica Minolta X60) but I am now looking at DSLR cameras.. I could do with some help as to what make I should go for (Pentax, Samsung, Nikon, Canon, Sony, Olympus, Sigma) I don’t know how to use all those different zooms but I am really keen to learn as I love taking pictures!

I have a Nikon D5000 DSLR and i would like to know if there is anyway of me taking a video of a balloon popping and the water staying in the same shape that the balloon was.
If there is how can i do it?

This isn’t done by the camera alone, any DSLR, or film SLR, can do it.

What you need is high speed flash gear, and a trigger to set them off. You put the camera in a dark room, open the shutter, and leave it alone. The flash is what gives you the shot.

Google can help you both understand how this works, and find the necessary components to do it yourself.

I am planning on doing photographic arts using microscopic elements as subjects.

Are you doing the project as part of a school or degree course? If so you may be able to get hold of some very nice microscopes (especially if you’re at a university with a science faculty) with camera attachments. I say this because without a specialist microscope (something that may cost £100,000) you would have to rely on the technique of digiscoping (sticking your camera lens up against the eyepiece) which is somewhat challenging to get right, and the quality can often be questionable.

My point is if you have the resources make use of them. Secondly I’d also like to ask you what you are trying to photograph, because you will use different types of microscope for different things.
