My jvc camcorder had the zoom lens stuck and I just banged it in my hand hard a few times and it fixed the problem.
i have a SANYO VPC-S885 the lens is jammed the camera comes on for like 2 seconds and goes off iknow it is a problem with the lens because when the camera comes on for those 2 seconds the lens won’t come out. ihave no clue of what to do can you possibly help me ??

Not likely you can fix this. You probably bought junk for $5.00
Sounds to me like the whole LCD display is shot. You could check on buying a replacement, but other parts might be broken as well.
In any case, since you only spent five dollars, take it apart and try to put it back together, it’s good practice even if it doesn’t fix it. Plus, you might actually get it to work.

Just be careful guys n gals. If you do this, be aware of the capacitor for the electronic flash (top LH corner 2:50). It may be charged with a voltage in excess of 300 volts. Accidental touching (terminals and/or parts of the circuit board) may result in a loud yowl, accompanied by a reflex action causing the camera to fly across the room. In really extreme cases, it could kill you! The capacitor should be discharged with a resistor unless you like to live dangerously!

I’m about there myself. At least $100 to simply clean dust from the inside of the lens for a year old camera or like $110-160 for a new one. Or I can pay $8 for a special screwdriver to open the thing and then mess around with it few a few hours until I break it and then go find the hammer.

poor camera
I took a bunch of care with my cam. but the batteries were starting to lose power and the camera would shutdown even if the batteries were brand new, and even if they were the expensive brands. you should of sent me that camera instead of breaking it.
