Question by Danatlive: Can I charge my NP-BG1 Sony Battery using the USB cable that connects to my digital camera?
I have a Sony DSC-W300 digital camera and the battery supplied was a NP-BG1 battery. The charger for the battery is a separate device which you simply slot the battery into whilst it is plugged in; unfortunately I have lost the charger.
Is it possible for me to charge the battery using the USB cable supplied with the camera (which allows me to transfer images from my camera to my computer and vice versa) to charge the battery whilst it is in my camera?
I have tried it once before but for a short amount of time, and there seems to be nothing happening.
FYI: The battery is *completely* dead.

Sorry, but you will need the charger to charge the battery. Contact Sony to see if you can buy another charger. You should have the one that was made for that battery, not some generic one, or you could ruin the battery or worse, start a fire.
